Privacy Policy — HATO

HATO is a social messaging app. We respect your privacy and collect only the minimum data required to operate the service.

Information we collect

• Account info: username, display name, and password (stored hashed/encrypted).
• Content you create: messages, clips, photos, comments, and live broadcasts.
• Device data: a push token (FCM) for notifications, and basic technical identifiers.
• Permissions requested only when needed: camera & microphone (calls/live), photos/media (posting), notifications.

How we use it

• To provide features: messaging, calls, live streaming, the gallery, and friends.
• To send notifications you enable.
• To protect the platform from abuse and to comply with the law.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. It is shared only with core service providers (e.g. Google's push service) as needed to run the app.

Retention & deletion

You can delete your content or account at any time; deleting your account removes associated data. To request deletion, email us below.

Advertising and rewards

We use Google AdMob for optional rewarded ads in the rewards portal and clearly labelled native gallery ads that can be scrolled past immediately. Google may collect device or advertising identifiers, IP address for approximate location, advertising interactions and diagnostics to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. Consent is requested where required before requesting ads; change it in Settings → Advertising privacy options. We do not send messages or contacts to AdMob. A pseudonymous account ID and a viewing-session ID are sent for server verification of video rewards. Rewards are credited once and are personal, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.

Security

We use in-transit encryption (HTTPS) and secure on-device session storage. No system is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable safeguards.

Children

The service is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to anyone under 18.
